Beef Deposit – Reserve for 08/28/2025 Processing at Hillsdale County Meats
Deposits are $100 per quarter beef plus applicable fees. If you want to purchase more than a quarter, please add the quantity you desire in quarter beef increments.
This deposit secures your processing date and location, the deposit will go towards your final balance.
Freezer beef will be charged $3.50 per pound of hanging weight by Horning Farms. Butcher fees are set by and charged by the processor. They are an additional approximate $1 per pound of hanging weight. Hanging weights can vary; we are averaging 850 pounds for a whole beef.
The Process of Buying Freezer Beef
1. Horning Farms will deliver the beef to the butcher for the date listed above.
2. We will receive the hanging weight of the animal within 2-3 days and will invoice for the beef (less the down payment). We require payment in full before the meat is picked-up.
3. Your beef will hang in the freezer at Hillsdale County Meats for approximately 3 weeks. During this time, you will need to reach out to Hillsdale County Meats to place cutting instructions; details to do so will be included in your invoice from Horning Farms.
4. Once the beef is cut, Hillsdale County Meats will reach out that your beef is ready to be picked up you can retrieve it directly from them. Cutting and wrapping fees will be due to Hillsdale County Meats at time of pick-up.
